I couldn't really post this in FML but I just have to bitch about it.

Warhammer 40k Space Marine has an achievement wherein you complete the first section of the game without restarting or dying in a single play session, around an hour thirty to complete.

I get to within just a few small sections to the end of section 1, this must be my 5th try to get the achievement and I get to the point wherein I normally can't pop heads fast enough to wade through the Orks and die, and manage to get through, finally.

Then the power goes out.

Take a hint: being a completionist is asking to be trolled by the universe

And so there's absolutely no reason to try to get the achievements in games that they're included in? Why bother putting them in there in the first place then?

Being a completionist has nothing to do with it, overcoming an obstacle that stresses your ability and challenges you, does.

We just had another tremor.. this one was 6 degrees Richter, 5 more points than the one we had on Friday..

We might had another Earthquake based on what specialists say :< which would suck because Internet (and dead people, that too)

EDIT: So it was an Earthquake after all. 7.2 Richter. I just felt it way less intensive because the last earthquake was 8.8. Welp. Internet's still up at least :b. And it was one hell of an experience,

I'll admit, I misunderstood your motivation to be that of a completionist instead of testing your skill.  Fortes Fortuna Adiuvat, Kirby.  Go Forth, Kill shit, Conquer. Fucking. Worlds.  SPACE MARINES ADVANCE!!!!!!

I hate agreeing with Versus.  Now, maybe hate is a strong word.  I hate the fuckers in Logar province who tried to kill me.  But anyways, I really don't enjoy achievement whoring.  I play a game for the story it tells.  I played wow for 4 years, I've done enough gather quests to last me a life time, I am not ok with hunting down servo skulls, or cogs, or anything for that matter.  I'm unhappy that developers decided easter egg hunts were an acceptable alternative to gripping, enveloping story lines.  "IF WE SEND THESE MOTHER FUCKERS ON AN OCD FUELED SCAVENGER HUNT, MAYBE THEY WON'T NOTICE WE'RE ONLY RELEASING 8 HOURS OF GAME FOR $60."  I mean, when you put it like that, most of us can get a more enjoyable hour/dollar ratio from an average date.

Just spoke with the professors of my classes having sections on April 27th: got OKs for planned absences, which means my arrival at ACEN on Thursday the 26th is confirmed. On the other hand, I have a very major exam the day after (Monday). Let's see if I can get that bumped forwards...

Also, my group name for an assignment in Plant Biology is the "Weed Warriors".

I heard there was a weed signal here, just poking my head in.

Anybody have super trippy thoughts before you fall asleep? I do.
While I was dozing off I got to thinking "What if words are a form of magic?" I mean think about it. The more well placed your words are the more influence they have upon people and the larger vocabulary you have the easier it is to confound people or influence people.

The real magic is communicating your own thoughts and feelings so succinctly, or so comprehensively, that people are compelled to believe what you believe. Words + Charisma = Majick

It's rather intangible Coelit. A combination of charm, confidence, unyielding will, amiability and empathy.
