Explanation:
Lion is a hero with a skill called Finger of Death that does a huge amount of damage to a single target.  Dagon is an item that does the exact same thing.  Dagon is a bad item though, because for it to be good you have to upgrade it fully, making it the most expensive item in the game and by the time you have it upgraded magic damage is much weaker due to enemies having hood(magic resistance), pipe(antimagic shield), bkb(magic immunity) and high health pools.  Also it's completely unnecessary in Lion since he already has the effect and is a support and should be getting supporty items.
Night Stalker is a hero that is considered to be one of the best gankers in the game.  However he is not a carry.  He can carry, but he is pretty terrible at it unless super fed since he only gets his attack speed buff when it's night time(just over half the time).  The only things Night Stalker does well are ganking and initiating.
Finally Zaneyard's "genius" combo.  The hero Pugna has a skill called Decrepify that slows an enemy and makes them take 40% bonus damage from spells.  Lina and Lion have the highest burst magic damage in the game, so they can pretty much instantly destroy anyone who is decrepified.  Presumably Pugna would get Dagon so he could join in on the fun.

we rolled face all three times we played with it, you just have to have a strong solo carry and a decent mid who can gank for said carry
you basically shut down the lane you're in and if they don't all leave to gank your carry you p much win the game

bkb is a terrible buy for sniper

as sniper you're supposed to be out of the fight, not in it, linkens is better if you want to stop the one random target stun/hex that will come your way (which it shouldnt because you're not supposed to be seen in the fight)

mkb is pretty fucking important on sniper btw tacos, the ability to shoot up the ramps into base is a big deal
you can sit back and pummel on the towers and shit while your team is on the front line and you don't have to get anywhere near it.

It's not like you can't pummel towers with the 25% miss chance. I just don't think paying all that money for another ministun is worth it.

In a perfect world you'll never be caught in the middle of a fight but in reality that'll happen multiple times a game.  Only a bkb, or idiots not bringing dust if you have shadow blade, will allow you to get out alive.

Thing is, Sniper is a good MS candidate because of his mini-stun ability, so if you go that route then MKB loses lots of viability.

I do see the point in it. If you're going against a lot of blinding/blurring heroes, I'd say it'd definitely fit. I still don't know what he really needs myself though (I should probably skim through a guide or two).
