For those of you who do not know my mother is not responsible in many ways one being with money. She has fallen for that prince of Nigeria kind of thing only several times. She does not learn her lesson. I just found out 2 weeks ago she sent 1000 dollars to her online "millionare" boyfriend. That is food and rent money which explains alot of my questions about us being short on just about everything. The owner of the townhouse is kicking us out in a week. Even if we do find a place I am doing everything in my power to find a place not around her. For these reasons and others she is not a positive influence on my emotional and mental state at all. She is like a teenager. An annoying one and this is coming from ME. She is beyond help, she just does not want to help herself. I am done with it. I love her but I am sickened by her. I just need to find my options and choose wisely at this point.

If you need to rent a place try Craig's list to get a room quickly. And if you need money to facilitate this, sell the rest of your TF2 Unusual hats and get real cash for them. Digital items aren't going to be a nice and warm place to sleep at night. Â Sig by Joel |

I just need to find my options and choose wisely at this point. If this is how you really feel about her, then I would suggest that you start planning, this second, for financial independence. That means, - not relying on her for any money - not expecting any gifts from her ever - not relying on her to put a roof over your head - not expecting she can buy you a value meal when you are hungry To achieve this completely in the shortest amount of time, this will require that you have the discipline and courage to - take any job - live in any shithole - take another job to pay for overpriced shithole A predictable shithole and the drudgery of a crappy job is more tolerable than the anxiety of worrying about when you will next be evicted. Plus, you can build from a shithole, whereas your mom has, unfortunately, demonstrated that she lacks the ability to build on anything. This is no small task, and will take a ton of hard work, tears, and humility to do. But, once you have complete financial independence, and, more importantly, stability in your life, it will be much easier for you to deal with your mother when she behaves irresponsibly. Best of luck. |

With training over, I am "able" to call in sick again should I need to, although I'm not sure my boss will be happy. Still I have witnesses from the training class who were commenting on how shitty I looked today. So I will direct her to all of them. |

My boss sucks in general, and sucks at making schedules specifically. He didn't realize that nobody travels to fucking Raleigh, North Carolina for Memorial Day, and wasn't expecting us to be slow last weekend. Which is fine, you can always call people and tell them not to come in for a shift. Of course, because we had shit sales last week, obviously we're going to have shit sales this week, even though there's not a fucking holiday, so the proper course of action is to understaff the next week because we were dead over a holiday weekend.
He also sucks at hiring people, but that's a bitchfit for another day. so a few nights ago my younger brother had friends over, like 7 or so. nothing big.
30 more kids show up with alcohol. they get rowdy. i need to kick them out and the police threat isn't cutting it. take out steak knife, wave it around, they leave, trashing backyard on way out, knocking over bball hoop, letting air out of tires (1 of which the sidewall cracked on deflation), shouting obscenities into the night, etcetc. so we thought we knew who they were, we don't and because i needed to resort to knife threat means that i would be potentially liable for something. fuck the law fuck every state not having a defined castle doctrine law/stand your ground law and most of all fuck the little shits who essentially cost us a car as we lack the money for a tire. i should have just called the cops but my little brother was probably drinking too so my ass would have been grass either way. |

Sorry, Bud, but I don't see any situation unless you were being physically threatened where waving a knife around would have been a good idea. If you were worried about your brother getting caught then you should have told him to make himself scarce until the cops left. I'm not saying they should have trashed your shit, but I have a feeling if the cops came it would have gone differently. Hind sight is 20/20 and all that.

Hind sight is 20/20 and all that. ny state has a weak stance on castle doctrine but the issue is these are all rich preppy kids crashing a party (i didn't mention that they showed up totally uninvited and were trespassing on private property). and the fact of the matter is if we push anything i or my parents are going down underage drinking (either my little brother or the fact they brought booze; doesn't matter lol), and i'd probably get fucked over for threatening the precious, trespassing rich preppy children. |

Castle doctrine applies if your shit is getting broken into.
People you've let into your home that are no longer welcome, total grey area. If they were rowdy, you should've threatened to call the cops, then called the goddamn cops. I'd say 30 drunk and belligerent young males is a pretty well defined threat. Now in ensigns particular case, I'd say call the cops and let the chips fall where they may. But I wasn't there. (06-04-2012, 09:03 PM)at0m link Wrote: Castle doctrine applies if your shit is getting broken into. Pretty much what he said. Castle Doctrine is the idea that "your home is your castle and you have a right to defend it". That means either from someone trying to invade your home or from someone who you previously let in. That being said, it's still a grey area practically speaking. When I took my concealed carry class, the biggest thing they pounded into us about dealing with any threat is deescalation. If you're armed, you become the biggest pussy on earth because that weapon is supposed to be your last resort. Here's hoping one of the kids you ran off doesn't call the police on you for attacking him/her with a knife. 11:35 Socks Greatbacon_work: Just accept the idea of enemas.

these kids were not invited. they were trespassing. no one who lives at the house invited them. they were trespassing. also i just remembered, they were throwing gasoline on the fire pit too and the flame was getting out of control (like 10 foot flame on a wooden deck)

wow ensign that sounds pretty shitty, just reading that kinda pissed me off
makes me glad i don't live in new york around those cunts my advice (which you probably shouldn't take) is to get their addresses (yes all 30) and fight fire with fire. 'Meditation is supposedly the only way to Enlightenment because the only way to find this truth is through inner reflection - therefore, what you are finding to be the truth in your personal journey should ultimately be exactly what I find to be the truth, though all of our journeys are unique.'

the first rule of any weapon, knife, gun, or penis: don't whip it out unless you intend to use it. If you don't have the training to use it and the certainty of mind that you need to, you risk getting yourself stabbed/shot/fucked.
Creative alternatives to deescalation: a) go around with a camera and take a pic of everyone that refuses to leave. preferably pics showing their underage consumption. State you plan to put the pics on the internet with tales of their douchebaggery. Bonus points if you have a smartphone camera and know at least some of their facebook profiles. b ) grab a louisville slugger and a flashlight. go to the circuit breaker of the house, turn if off, and threaten to kneecap anyone who tries to get past you turn the power back on. without electricity for lights and music, the party goes elsewhere. |
