E3 2012 GENERAL

Nintendo posted a video today here.

Some highlight points I copy/pasted from reddit because time constraints:

Wii U Gamepad:

Circle Pad is out, clickable analog sticks are in

Back holding has been changed

Button layout slightly changed

NFC Writer/Reader at front

Wii U controller can be used as a tv controller even when the Wii U is off

Wii U Pro Controller announced much more similar to Xbox and other more traditional controllers


Social Networking/Help and stuff in a promotional video?

Videochat/Skype in the same video?

Wii U start Menu showed off has blocks of games and miis are everywhere on the menu. They say things that the users miis say. Miis come from your system/country and stuff.

Wii U start menu also is on the controller.

Miiverse is their version of PSN or Xbox Live + Social Networking system.

Miiverse can be accessed by pressing the home button during games.

Miiverse doesn't require the tv.

Miiverse is planned to be also on the 3DS, PC and Phones(?)

Internet browser on the controller, also on the tv.

You can hide what you're watching on the tv (web browser).

Pretty much the only interesting thing I've seen so far, though I was kind of disappointed once they started the cover shooting. For a while there I was hoping that we would finally have a modern game that doesn't involve shooting people.

ea- mediocre at best, not really memorable at all.
ubisoft- started off horrendously, floundered in the middle (got better though!), but HOLY SHIT SO HYPE AC AMURIKA EDITION AND WATCH_DOGS
