With my recent discovery of how low Canada's tuition rates are, How much higher are taxes in Canada than in the states? I realize the programs we spend tax money on are different but how much more (if it is more) does the average Canadian give in exchange for free healthcare and cheap education? Does anyone know what tuition rates are for foreign students?

Does anyone know what tuition rates are for foreign students? I pay 40% income taxes, 12% sales taxes, and nearly $3k/year on real estate taxes. My education wasn't cheap, at nearly $5k a year. I don't think the tuition rates are different for visiting students, but it varies between institutions. |

I had a very small if not meaningless victory last night but it made me feel good.
It was me (a state school student), a duke math major, and 4 UPenn students hanging out when someone produces the 24 game. I have to say as nerdy as it is it's so much fun especially when inebriated. I beat them pretty badly. This one took us(me!) a long time to figure out. No cheating. 2,7,8,9 get to 24 using +,-,x,/,and () |

I guess such a thing is physically possible as it would be with many other animals; my mom told me some stories of when she used to kill and clean chickens, and their bodies run around and do stupid shit for a surprisingly long time before they finally fall down and die after you cut off their heads. Looks like, if it were real, it could have had its face blown off with something and is still in the process of being dead. Especially considering a the end it seems to be trying to walk or something and it can't quite do it. But shit looks fake. |

Never in my years of raising cattle have I ever even heard of something like that happening. I've heard it happening to chickens and seen that shit personally, but not cows. That, and if it was in its dying state, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be able to stand up; the nerves would make it convulse, causing it to flop on the ground instead. Just my two cents anyway. I still highly doubt that.
Both my sister and brother in law have both worked for Via Rail in Canada. They'd be on the train a week at a time as a chef or cook. They've both seen cows get hit by trains at least once. Know what happens? They pretty much explode. Trains DO NOT slow down for them, and when they are on the tracks, they are almost completely obliterated. Sometimes their carcass gets kind of caught up in the front of the train and they have to stop it and get it cleared away before the train can continue on. But I am extremely doubtful that it would just smack the cow in the face, rip its face off, and that the cow would just continue to stand there and look around like nothing happened. There is no blood dripping, which I still believe there would be. There still seems to be something missing in terms of its musculature/facial structure that should be there even if it had been somehow taken off by something. |

Pretty sure its a photoshop. I can tell from the pixels, and from having seen quite a few in my time.

2 hours of talking about the weather, small-engine repair, politics, and bullshit.
Phone call's all he wants, I don't even bother with a card anymore. |

I'll call my mom, since my dad's dead and a card for him would just make her cry. Even calling might make her cry, so I dunno :/
