Finally actually finished the game last night, even with having stuff spoiled and knowing the ending would suck....damn was I disappointed, nothing really prepares you.
I mean for such otherwise stellar writing and such, it was like, yea we're not even gonna try, I realize you have to narrow down the "big" part of the ending to a few choices ala Deus Ex, but at the very least a fallout-esq epilogue would have done a world of wonders to tone down the suck. So I got this on Amazon when it was on sale for $30, and holy shit the rest of the game is really damn good aside from the ending.
Spoilers for everything up to after Rannoch
Fucking Thane's death, man. And Mordin's. And Legion's.
|

I thought those moments were very well done. Thane was dying to begin with, so going out fighting off a scifi ninja and actually kicking the ninjas ask while horribly impaired, is a pretty badass way to go. Mordins was probably the saddest, but it was done very well. I thought Legion was handled well also to me, perhaps abit forced, but in the end it lead to the greater good, which was basically the theme for all of their deaths.

I enjoyed the game, but after the ending I had no desire to get full galactic readiness, no desire to beat the game again to get different endings, no desire to buy DLC or play multiplayer. I think that is what really hurt the game, it kills any replay value when you realize there isn't much point to beating it again or raise your completion of the game. |

Extended cut DLC came out today. Still pretty bad, but has a 4th ending where you tell the cunt Starchild to fuck off and die in a goddamn hole (like a normal, not subhuman would say). This kills the entire galaxy in the most literal sense.
Fuck that. My apathy for Bioware and the garbage they've put out lately has rendered my rage flaccid. I don't even care anymore, and will simply save my rage for good products ruined by stupidity, rather than shit tier products buried even deeper in their own waste. It's just kinda of depressing. Bioware used to be a company I'd more or less instant lock buy their stuff, much like how Square was to me during the PS1 heyday. Now though... the only company I have to root for when it comes to buying blindly is Valve, and we all know how often they put stuff out. b)

I hope you meant The Old Republic because KOTOR was awesome. That aside I agree with both of you :p
