This isn't entirely bad, but I'll post it here anyway. I didn't get the job that I applied for at Portillos (for non midwestern people, it's like a high class fast food place). They said they didn't want to hire me because I'd only work there for like 6 weeks since I'm going to college in the fall and they didn't want to waste their time training me. The upside to this though is that I've heard from various workers (including one that was talking to me while waiting for the interview to start) that the place is hell and they hate the job. I guess I dodged a bullet? But yeah, they were the only place that called me back after I applied everywhere, so it seems I'll remain jobless for the summer .

Fast food really wasn't that bad in itself, it was the management that turned the job into shit.

My primary mouse had a strawberry lemonade buffer overflow and isn't tracking now. Â Then my backup logitech laptop mouse jsut doesn't work at all. Â I am without mouse at the moment.
Using a Bamboo tablet. EDIT: NOw the logitech is working, but its such a shitty mouse that I went back to the tablet.

Pie's shitty week:
-Tuesday 6/26: Get a call from summer camp that I'm chaperoning, my other adult leader bailed and took two kids from troop with her because OMGSPIDERS (i shit you not) -Wednesday 6/27: Arrive at summer cam to chaperone, troop morale is toxic. fucking awesome start to vacation -Friday 6/29: HOLY SHIT GIANT STORM, camp locks us down until midnight -Saturday 6/30, the crechendo of shit: Get to bed at midnight in my tent, FUCKING CHAINSAWS AT FUCKING 1:44 A. FUCKING M. Get up at 5:30, 1 hour of sleep, need to drive boys home. Boy rolls window down, window dosen't roll up. Drive 200 miles from middleofnowhere Virgina to DC. Lights out everywhere, gas stations closed everywhere. Arrive in DC, try to make it back to MD on fumes. Connnecticut Ave has zero traffic lights working. Make it back. Window stuck open, need to use garage, roomate broke garage while i was gone. Car exposed, tape window shut (tape leaves marks) Power is out, heat is 100F -Sunday 6/30: Power is on, internet is out -Monday 7/1: Get out of work early to go to pep boys "Oh yeah, that guy isn't coming in until Thursday, sorry." No internet. -Tuesday 7/2: Get car fixed, sit in room and bake for 3hrs, out $380. No internet. -Wednesday 7/3: No internet. Xfinity/Comcast dude shows up "Well, you see, the cable is melted and that's a Pepco problem, I cant give you an ETA, dunno when theyll get to it." Call Verizon, next technician available 7/14. Currently have order into Verizon for Fios ready to cancel if Xfinity/Pepco pulls head out of ass. Out in Philly for business next Monday until Friday, I might have internet when I get back. (Currently at 20 min away friends place interneting briefly. Logged into steam to hopefully get pyro goggles. MAKE THIS FUCKING WEEK STOP. |

My father is never NOT disappointed or angry at me.Â
Case in point: I mow his lawn every single week. Every friend I have who I talked to gets paid to mow their lawn but not me. This doesn't necessarily bother me, but what does is when I get paid in sarcastic accusatory comments and can't remember ever receiving a single free "thank you for mowing my lawn." He will immediately point out anything I have done wrong, and never congratulate me on something done right. If something ELSE is pissing him off (as literally everything does) then I am his go-to punching bag. I don't remember him saying anything positive (or even NOT negative) to me since I got home for summer. My failures last forever and my victories are fleeting moments for him. Even if he DOES have something nice to say to me he won't say it to my face. I often run errands for my mother which until school got out included picking up my little brother from school. I hear from my brother that my dad thinks that it is great that I am helping my mother out, but the next thing I hear from my dad is some of the usual angry bullshit. I took teh Isopropyl alcohol to try to clean out my mouse from earlier and I left it in the bathroom upstairs. Today he asks me for it in a tone that would suggest that I maliciously STOLE the precious, precious rubbing alcohol (that I bought with my money, btw) that no one but me ever uses anyway. I just stopped caring about what he thinks, which just pisses him off more. It makes me want to get a steady job and get an apartment to live in next summer. |

Learn to confront him and tell him what you think. If that means having a huge argument, then it can be worth the trouble. Maybe he felt that you are not doing much in your life, or heading down the wrong path. Maybe he doesn't think that way and you are being somewhat cynical about the world. No matter what, you have to talk with your old man about these things or else it will never change. |

Blah. Got a speeding ticket on some stupid back country road by a state trooper. Meh, If I can't do online traffic school or something I'll just have a lawyer take care of it.
