I got ArmA today and got DayZ installed. It's fun.

I hope we can get a few more people in on this.

I had trouble not being able to connect to servers and had to update to the latest Beta patch for ArmA II

life 1: spawned got chased by 4 zombies immediately dropped to 9000 blood and passed out was promptly eaten.

life 2: got away from the coast started searching barns for guns a few close calls, could not find food, found a 12 gauge but only had shells for a m1014. Still baffled by how to equip the hatchet. started starving and passing out due to massive blood loss found an antenna on a hill but died before i could search the whole area.

life 3: spawn chase by zombie for about 10 seconds made a b-line inland and found a barn with a dead guy that had food, soda, bandages and a crossbow. also got a hatchet, and there are at least 2 more in the barn i found all my new stuff in.
All within the first 5 minutes of respawn.
looking for people i know to come be meat shields for me and my newly acquired stuff

Personally I think playing on an empty server is nice.  It gives you a chance to accumulate gear without being shot at.

I've only seen 1 other person so far and he flew past me, not noticing me, with zombies chasing him. I did't shoot the zombie :3. I died shortly after that because I got gliched and it broke my leg and I had no morphine on me. That's on a server that's averaging 25-30 players.

well i was playing than i was instantly killed in the middle of nearwhere with no indication of what may have happen. But its all good im near to Pavlovo now and i am playing on meeting with some friends and going north to some high yield barns for possibly a lee enfiled to replace my winchester and because it has so much ammo i have been attacking zombies out of sheer malicious hatred. Also hoping one drops some more food. I got a family to feed
