Although it must be said, I've reached my 'FUCK IT' threshold at my current job. Nothing wrong with the job itself, just the way I'm being managed (and hence the way in which I'm scheduled/assigned tasks, the way that my department operates, and the tools I have at my disposal). Translation: I'm behind on projects that were dropped in my lap last minute, and my laptop is now completely dead due to lackluster performance by the PC Support Technician in IT. Despite my attempts to continue working with a replacement HDD, it's now completely unusable. If I didn't have a pile of Dell Desktops sitting around to work on, I wouldn't be able to post this (and would thus just go home for the day).

Working as an "unpaid employee" and being in charge of a 15 person group in student affairs gets significantly more frustrating when the staff who you are reporting to acts like another student. I don't want to have to deal with herding yet another cat. Useless. |:<

Sure love staying late at work for maintenance that isn't possible because you learn the part is incompatible, thus wasting your night for nothing. Sure love coming home and seeing a package for a hockey jersey I've been watching eBay for a long time for in my size, only to find that the jersey they sent was a size smaller than described, and is thus too tight.
I'd like to think that one of these days, it'll all be worth it, but when I'm an IT person going to work these days going in now with a mindset of "Well, what's going to go horribly wrong today?", I need to get out. And I don't know where to escape. As much as I'd like to not give a fuck, I can only do that for so long. For fuck's sake, having one thing go right in my job or social life would be nice. |
