It does exist. The only thing is they force you off of it if you buy a subsidized phone, but we figured it out. We have 4 lines, 3 of them with data. We will used the 4th line to upgrade to an S III, but activate it on a data line. This way, on the data line, it thinks the phone was unsubsidized. We are adding another talk only line so we will repeat it for another one of our data lines. Then for the 3rd phone, we will just buy out right. Since only one is gonna be the S III, that will be $200 upfront for the upgrade, the other two data lines are gonna be Galaxy Nexuses in December, so the subsidized one will be nearly free and the unsubsidized will be $200-$300.

Had it confirmed to me we can do this.

Other than a slightly faster processor are there any major differences between the SIII and the motorola razr family? Mainly I'm wondering how durable motorola's products are and how devoted they are to software after it's no longer the most current model.

I know samsung has that solid reputation and great reviews but I just like the feel of the motorolas' builds better.

motorola is still making phones? They should have killed off the RAZR family when they had that battery screw up how long ago.
SIII is the best phone on the market right now, hands down.

It feels sort of flimsy to me :/

I feel like I'm the only one who wants phones to stop getting thinner, especially when their face is as large as the galaxy family. I suppose the case would help that out though.

Also prices for me after a contract renewal are

S3- $200 8mp
razr maxx- $150 8mp
nexus- $100 5mp

having 8mp is a really big appeal to me but I don't know if that's worth $100 extra dollas to me. The only other upgrade seems to be a moderately faster processor (is it that much faster?) and a slightly larger screen.

I know hek has a Galaxy Nexus perhaps he can vouch for its durability.

I got mine on Friday, and I'm seriously digging it. I need to get a drop-proof case/holster combo like I had for my Inspire, though.

I have mine in a Otterbox commuter. I have dropped it twice with no damage.
The Motorola Droid Razr is splash proof. I still would not own a Motorola cellphone, they still load up their roms with crap and their overall design is lacking.

The SGS3 is basically a GNexus with a larger screen, 32gb storage and either a (quad-core or LTE) depending on which model you get. Hint: The quadcore has a batter that lasts MUCH longer.

As for the camera, it's a fucking cell phone. The sensor is tiny and the lens design is immature. You are pretty much better off buying a point and shoot camera if it's that much of an influence on your purchase.

I had good luck with the Seidio plastic/silicone/plastic multi-layer one I had on my Inspire, so I got the equivalent for the Nexus. The Nexus one is called a Convert.

A ruggedized case is kind of a requirement for the sorts of environments where I take my phones.

I also have an Otterbox Commuter for my phone. Best part is that I dropped it and the case cracked a tiny bit. Wasn't too worried about it but sent them an email anyway. Didn't get any response and then a brand new one showed up at my door. Never buying a case from anyone else.

I own a Motorola Razr. I can't comment on how it compares to other Android phones in terms of software, speed, and all that stuff. I'm satisfied with it though.

I can say that it's far more durable than you'd think. The screen is gorilla glass and is slightly recessed below the edge of the phone. I've dropped it a few times, including a face down skidding landing on concrete before (no case or screen protector used at the time) and the only damage was light scuffing on the edges of the phone. I also like the fact that it's thin and easy to keep next to my wallet in my pocket. I really enjoy soft-touch surfaces, I enjoy the kevlar back.

I have a siedo for my phone, I like it because it has a rubbery feeling that allows me to grip the phone better.

I was pretty much going to say that but I lack your eloquence.

I joined the Android crew in May, with a Droid X2. Did I make a good choice? I love it so far.

Things I learned today:

1) Updating a rooted phone is probably much easier if you can remember what you did to it a year ago.

2) If you forget to back everything up before unfucking your phone so it can be updated, you're going to be stuck with setting up your phone from square one.

3) Android Ice Cream Sandwich is pretty sweet.

Yeah I finally got CM9 beta on my phone. It's really good, but the touch screen is a bit jittery now.

the reason 8mb is important to me is because i'm not a hobbyist photographer and i don't have a digital camera. I don't take pictures very often even when i go places so I don't plan on ever carrying a camera. i just need something to take respectable pictures when i need it to. For instance, when i'm at a party with drunk friends.

_any_ of those phones will take respectable pictures.
