The buses I drive have them, they are always recording but only on a buffer. Once ans event happens it extends the buffered recording for another 10-15 sec and saves it for sending to a server when the vehicle is off for a 30 sec video. That's why you don't see the after math in most of these videos.

The one with the black car hitting the tram lines and flipping over backwards was my fav part in that vid.

[/quote]most commercial ones appear to be looping cameras that buffer to a microSD card, recording 1-8 hours and just overwriting the oldest stuff. I wouldn't mind something ike that, but I'd rather something super unobtrusive.
