So I'm venturing out of the dumb phone era and pre-ordered the newest iphone as a replacement. I'd like to get some kind of protection for it such as a case. I've never bought cases for my previous cell phones but considering how the iphone uses some type of glass for the front and back, I figured I had better invest in at least screen protectors.
All this talk about Otterboxes made me do a little bit of research and although it certainly looks very durable, it's also really, really ugly and big. I was wondering if anyone know of some cases that won't add so much bulk onto my phone yet would still offer some protection in case I accidentally drop it. Nevermind! I'll just shop around It's more fun that way. (yea this isn't the right thread but I don't want to create a new one just for an apple product) ask me about mpreg |

[/quote] Let me put it this way: Your 1080p LCD monitor can display just over 2mp. A 4x6 printed photo from a lab is just over 2.1mp. The average picture on the internet is 0.8mp. Unless you plan to print the photos that you have taken at 8x12" or larger, you will not benefit from a resolution above 5pm. Resolution only comes into play when you are outputting. The only advantage higher resolution will give you is the ability to crop more, giving the effect of a digital zoom. |

Just get the cheaper one. ask me about mpreg |

I've heard good things about CyanogenMod which is based on Jelly Bean and I believe it supports the Galaxy S II and all its variants.

Yeah CM is good.
For the GSM version of the SII, which is everything but Sprint, will have better support. Sprint version just finally got the beta version of CM9, where as you guys are getting CM10 soon. Heads up, the Humble Indie Bundle for Android 4 is running now. If you're looking for some good Android games it might be worth taking a look. It's also worth noting that you get Steam codes for all the games in the bundle as well.

Anybody have any suggestions for phones on Verzion? I'm on the fence between the Galaxy S3 and Droid DNA. The Galaxy S3 is universally praised, but the verizon version is apparently missing a lot of features. The DNA is supposedly the flagship for Droid on Verizon, but I'm most worried about the battery.

If you're stuck using the backwards technology that Verizon calls a phone, go with their version of the Galaxy S3 and load a 3rd party Rom, such as Cyanogenmod.

I have the Droid Razr with Verison. It's not the latest or greatest tech and doesn't offer too much in terms of Roms when compared to some other phones, but I like its thinness. Even though the phone has a huge screen, I can comfortably keep it next to my wallet.

My Galaxy S2 Skyrocket, through no fault of its own, has kicked the bucket. I need to pick up a new phone, but I get the feeling that I am not yet eligible for a subsidized phone. With this in mind, what are my best options? I think if I have to pay full price, the Nexus 4 might be the best way to go (the Note and S3 are over $500 unlocked, vs $350 + tax + shipping for the 16GB Nexus 4).
I'll be visiting my carrier store today. If I am eligible for a subsidized phone, then I'll opt for the S3 or Note. |

Time to re-up for another 2 years with AT&T. I took a look at this month's deals for:

Galaxy S III: $100 Good: Last Year's Best Phone Ever. Bad: ... |
