Ask yourself these questions:
- do you want to spend more time out of your place or in it? - would you rather a.) go out to eat, b.) cook for yourself, c.) have takeout delivered? - spend more time with your family or with co-workers or new city-friends? - prefer chain restaurants (e.g., Applebees) to gastropubs (e.g., the Gage) - when you meet a girl out, do you want to have a short walk or a long train ride from the bar to your lair? - do you plan to do noisy things in your apartment, like shoot guns, play drums, or rescue many cats? I think these criteria will help you to objectively narrow your preference of suburban versus city living. And if you continue to live in Naperville the next time I visit I will cut you. |

A shitty dive bar up in San Francisco is still in San Francisco. A shitty dive bar out in Santa Clara was a waste of my night. I would take city living, anytime.
Take notice of your new neighbors because they will be taking notice of you. If they see you as on their side and looking out for their best interests, they will watch your door and windows for you while you're not there. You've kept us ducklings in a rough huddle through many a bio lab and hotel ballroom; I see you being a force for good or for awesome whatever block you move into.

I'm gonna toss my lot in with the city slickers. Both because that sounds way more fun to me, and logistical issues. Commutes are gross.

Another vote for city living and close to transportation. When I was looking for a place to move near DC after graduating college I had similar criteria that you do. I wanted a place that was near public transportation (Metro) that could get me around the city, I wanted to be closer to where I worked, I wanted a neighborhood that was relatively safe and had plenty of things to do without having to travel far. I ended up with a place two blocks from the nearest Metro station, in a neighborhood with plenty of local restaurants and nightlife, > 1 mi from where I work (I usually walk) and in a neighborhood that is safe and has a lot of people near my age living there. Even though rent is a bitch, I can't imagine living in the suburbs again for a long while anyway. There is so much more to do here even if it means just spending a weekend morning lounging at the local hipster cafe.

Go live in chicago so I can live vicariously through you
'Meditation is supposedly the only way to Enlightenment because the only way to find this truth is through inner reflection - therefore, what you are finding to be the truth in your personal journey should ultimately be exactly what I find to be the truth, though all of our journeys are unique.'

So Tenacious D were the last performers at the VGAs, had a penis on stage with them and it even ejaculated at the end of the song.

Going dark for a few days to force myself to prepare for my exams. I'll be back to host FNF, as I said.
EDIT: never mind
