We all have people we need to buy gifts for this holiday season. Share any good ideas you've had for friends, siblings, etc.

Please. my mother and sister are hard to shop for.

What are their interests?
Different people have different tastes. My mom enjoys gardening and coffee, that doesn't mean your mom does as well.

Cookbook for sister, make sure to get her something exotic or sweet-laden.

If she doesn't have this already, a nice set of knives/knife? Or a knife sharpener?
(I find that for cooking, the experience is not as fun if I have to use a mediocre knife.
Some nice knives: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_0...f%20knives
I really like these spice racks (modern! organized!): http://fab.com/sale/14818
If you have the time, you can easily make one by ordering a few hexagonal glass jars, strong magnets, and a metal sheet.
This is quite useless (I never use chopstick rests, I feel like it's a restaurant exclusive thing), but so cute: http://fab.com/sale/14961/product/205484/?usid=6

Girls always seem to love awesome bathrobes.  Not like the $10 bullshit from walmart but an honest to god bathrobe.

I have more but Helix stalks my posts and she has no clue what's she's getting for Christmas.

I suppose that album would be a good buy if they have decent taste in music.

I generally default to Starbucks gift cards when I can't think of anything better for someone.  One actually good option if you know what the person is into are Threadless tshirts.

The only problem with thinking of cool gifts is that I inevitably want to buy everything for myself (WHOEVER I GIVE IT TO WON'T APPRECIATE IT LIKE I WOULD).

Some cool stuff tho:
Carl Sagan's Pale Blue Dot for dirty atheists, nerds, and the science-oriented: http://www.amazon.com/Pale-Blue-Dot-Visi...1EWQXM77HE

Rhodia Meeting Notebook 9x11.75 Black - Higher quality paper and better binding than moleskine for writers, artists, and other assorted hipsters: http://www.amazon.com/Rhodia-Meeting-Not...J55G8VWZ3F

Leatherman Freestyle Multitool for guys who want to feel like a solider or a construction worker but actually just sits in an office all day with their thumb up their ass: http://www.amazon.com/Leatherman-831078-...ZOY9OSEUOI

Premium Cocktail Shaker Set - for the guy who wants to shake cocktails but is a loser with no friends to drink with: http://www.amazon.com/Premium-Cocktail-S...UHNRK5NUYU

2" Lucid by LinenSpa Ventilated Memory Foam Mattress Topper 3-Year Warranty for your mom: http://www.amazon.com/Lucid-LinenSpa-Ven...KBNAUDXO81

Dutch Gold Pure Honey from Orange Blossom for your fucking grandma: http://www.amazon.com/Dutch-Gold-Honey-O...H0XRP0LPPT

and all these things for me
