Hi, I live in NY, where it's always fucking cold and, sometimes, we get precipitation. I feel that it's a happy-esque medium between Canada and everywhere else.

NH's projected 8-12" snow inches projected for tonight frowns on your shenanigans, possibly screws up my train back to DC on Friday.

Get home from super awesome family Xmas. Start getting intense Kidney/abdominal pain. Man up for 8 sleepless, agonizing hours. Finally go to the emergency room. Get shot up full of saline and morphine. Ultrasounds reveals the real FML. I'm getting old. And kidney stones.
Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence. -Albert Einstein |

But it's not really a getting old thing; people can experience them in their 20s if the stars align. |

That's no fun! I had gallstones a few years ago and it was awful. I think they say kidney stones are worse. You need this |

I have an irrational fear of the idea that one day I'm going to get drunk and pass out, and when I wake up I will always have the feeling and manners of being drunk, as if the drinking somehow altered my brain chemistry enough that I'm always that way, no matter what I do...

/gun talk
so, there was a gun buyback in L.A. and some smart person turned in a LAW tube and an expended AT-4. And the media is so damn fixated that someone turned in "rocket launchers" that were floating around L.A. Seriously? What amazes me is the LAPD paid good money for trash. Literally. Those things are disposable. You don't try to reload them if you want to live. Someone picked their nifty trophy they've had stuffed in the back of their garage that they were never supposed to make it off the range with and got the LAPD to take care of their problem for them, and got paid for it. /gun talk |
