A few days ago my computer started doing this. I'll try to wake it, the computer will come on, but the screen will either remain blank (with or without mouse cursor) or not get a signal at all. I've had to restart it each time.
I updated my drivers recently, but I'm not sure what else exactly it could be. Specs: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit Radeon HD 5870 8GB DDR3 Intel i5 750 @ 2.66ghz |

Don't use sleep mode. Done.

Various (tho now less common) apps don't like to suspend, or see the system clock suddenly change.
Poorly designed hardware (see high end music and video) takes a shit with ACPI. And yes, leave it on. |
