Most ctf maps just go to shit in general because a few scrubs will engy up and before you know it there's a farm protecting the flag. Very few ctf maps are tolerable simply because this isn't possible with those maps. If I were remaking the rotation, these would be the only maps I'd consider just from a gameplay perspective:
cp_aqua cp_badlands ??? cp_desertfortress cp_dustbowl (hate it, but it fills servers) cp_freight cp_granary ??? cp_gravelpit cp_junction cp_labor cp_oilfield? (dunno, haven't played it) cp_roswell cp_stag cp_warpath cp_well ctf_2docks? (haven't played it) ctf_chaos ctf_geothermal ctf_impact2 ctf_turbine ctf_waterworks? (haven't played it) ctf_well edit: I admit I only like warpath because it's like the only map where I ever get a pocket medic always, and then get to just beat people up in the tunnel between 2-3 for 30 minutes at a time. That's one of the more ridiculous chokepoints I've seen. Ripped like paper raped with ease hey scrub nerd pyros suck on these

It just seems like every other map is a pure meatgrinder with 1 giant choke point. Warpath, Dustbowl, Goldrush, Badwater, etc. More 5 point CP maps would be a great thing to have. All of these maps suffer from Hydro syndrome of both teams hitting each other and not doing much besides spam until someone manages a ninja cap. Running into walls of sentries and spam is not fun.
Gravel Pit, Granary, Badlands, Impact2 etc. do not have this problem. There are plenty of other ways around. If Scout is completely unplayable it is generally a terrible map. Exception to the Orange maps and Cowpath which are terrible for other reasons. |

I wonder how the game would play without engineers.

dont know how possible this is, but I remember in CS there were servers that had a mapvote at the end of every map - aka - it wouldnt change until the people had voted. Â
I think this would really help because it wouldnt rotate to a map that most people didnt have. Â if there wasnt enogh votes it would go to regular rotation, but that list should be VERY small. Â When people vote for a map or see that it was voted for they might be more likely to stay for DL? anyhoo there's my 2 cents trust me... I'm a 2L |

There was a plugin that did this but it was retardedly broken Maybe there's an update I wouldn't mind testing it I would like to avoid granary/well/badlands if at all possible, While ya Radio you can get "around", I'm not a huge fan of the maps, I don't like final points to be undefendable things that if you breathe on them its game over. There's plenty of less shitty 5 points maps like labor, freight, and warpath. And for warpath, yea it is a meat grinder, but I think overall it works because its insta-spawn by default and you can actually push back against an opponent that has pinned you to the last point. Tonight Im going to throw on the 'end of map vote' plugin that is on sourcemod and see what happens. Any assistance in testing would be appreciated.  Sig by Joel |

Could we turn grenades off in the CoD4 server? They're cheap, the indicator blows, and I hate them. >

I like cp_roswell. There was a time when it was played as much as cp_dustbowl. What happened, people?

The issue with end of map votes, which I assume just decide the next map, is either people being generally retarded and wanting nothing but these 3 maps or people not realizing what half the server just played 2 maps ago. Might as well make it a 24/7 dustbowl/goldrush server at that point. Those maps win every single time they're nominated.
I guess if you had it auto rtv at the end so nominations and random maps came up? |

If you guys want all stock go play the damned console version. Put as many maps into the rotation as you can.
Also: http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/69298 http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/72535 http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/72858 We ought to play all of these on an fnf. Feeling generous? Karf is a respectable human being. http://i.imgur.com/MTVw5.png Thank you, Mr. Pelican. |

The end of map voting sounds like it would be a nice plugin. |
