[/quote]Was reading the edition foreword of my copy of LOTR, they pointed out that there was a pretty major discrepancy between the usage of Dwarfs/Dwarves. Editors and typesetters kept changing it away from what Tolkien wanted, although I can't remember which one was 'right' in his opinion.

In the production of this first volume, Tolkien experienced what became for him a continual problem: printer's errors and compositor's mistakes, including well-intentioned 'corrections' of his sometimes idiosyncratic usage.  These 'corrections' include the alter of dwarves to dwarfs.....

I fall on the other side of the gun debate, but I always like seeing a cop being told what his job is.  I don't care how much of a douche that guy is, he was in the right.  The cop should have just walked away, or better yet, never showed up.

no i know, this isn't the first time we've had this conversation. i rightfully posted a reply stating why the guy in the video is an idiot. waiting to either get a response saying "ur a fukken idiot u just want the cops to take away all your rights" or to be removed as a friend.

[/quote]The dude being right doesn't make him less of a douche for wandering around with a video camera, a pistol, and a head full of court cases to cite while talking to the cops, hoping he gets stopped. He's right, sure. But the fact that this is a video on the internet means he's also a douche.

As far as the people who called the cops on him, it depends entirely on what he was doing. Were they justified that a strange armed man was wandering around on their block? Maybe. Was the cop justified in asking him what he was doing there, given that there had been calls about him? Probably. Did he have to answer? Nope.

All true. But the open carry activists do not do us gun owners any favors. It antagonizes John and Jane Q Taxpayer and causes them to make phone calls to legislators asking why the crazy people with guns are walking around their stepford neighborhood. Then the legislators make laws that screw guys like me over.

Contrast this with the guys who go record the border patrol doing immigration checkpoints 80 miles inside the border. Those guys I support totally.
