Instant action has been redesigned to be a single button press, with no on-map indication of where it will send the player, but it will still hot-drop them onto a facility with heavy combat. This is to prevent people from exploiting instant action as an organizational tool, which is what people were using it for previously. If you are in a squad and not the leader, a second button for squad deploy will appear.

its just sounds silly when i read it. Hotdrops are no longer for a tactical advantage to get to a location asap.
I for one used them to move across a map when i didnt want to fly or drive/ had things on timer.

but oh well spawn bacon is the way to do these things anyway

That's the point

Its supposed to be used for instant action for players not playing organized so they know where to go. You aren't supposed to use to to travel across the map. Which is why if you're in a squad you can still do squad lead deploys and stuff

I think it's a good change. Might force people to actually use gals and stuff now to get to a major hotzone that you want to get to instead of just being able to insta-teleport there with instant action

So I think I found a bug/exploit in this new patch. Haven't tried to recreate it yet, but I was shot and then rez'd just as the redeploy screen came up. This got me stuck in the redeploy screen while still alive, able to walk around and even see myself on the map moving. Alt my mouse up and clicked redeploy.

After that, I was apparently invisible but still able to take damage, while my visible body was elsewhere. Took me a long while to figure that out. So after running around like a moron, shooting everything, someone found my ghost body and camped it. Game over.

Only an issue when attacking a base now.

The reason being is that deploy locations appear to be BOTH local spawn points AND spawn points in hotly contested areas, regardless of distance. This makes it possible to quickly jump back and reinforce a biolab that's being captured.

The Wraith cloak field at Level 5 lasts a surprisingly long time.

There's a fun glitch involving the Wraith, cloaking, and being a passenger in a multi-crew vehicle (like, say, a Lib). Then it lasts forever. See below.

Yeah Sad I was hoping heroic boosts would be like the normal boosts except +100% XP or something, not just an alpha squad boost lol Sad

They totally aren't worth it unless you only buy your SC on a triple SC day and therefore the real price is $17ish for a ghetto 6mo membership (which is pretty good mind you but... you do miss out on the 500sc/mo and the large passive cert gain you get.. which really aren't that big of a deal I guess).

Alpha squad is +50% XP and Cert gain for 6 months. The heroic boosts are +50% XP and Cert Gain for 3 months or 6 months depending on what you buy.

They also stack with membership (like the Alpha one does) so you end up with +100%XP if you have a 6+ month sub and a 50% boost at the same time.

All servers will come offline on March 27th at 6:00 AM PT (2:00 PM CET) for a brief update to address a few outstanding issues. Downtime is anticipated to be less than 90 minutes. Players may note the following changes:

The deconstruct button has been removed from the vehicle info panel on the HUD

Vehicle kill assist XP values adjusted to appropriately scale with the recent XP bump for destroying a vehicle

The NS-11C has been added to the Depot for all Empires

Adjustments have been made to the Lancer VS22:
Damage falloff now starts at 500m and ends at 700m.
Projectile speed now changes based on charge level. Level 1 = 600 m/s. Level 2 = 700 m/s. Level 3 = 800 m/s.
Fire delay removed from ALL charge levels.
Now takes 1.5 seconds to reach charge level 2 (used to be 2 seconds). Level 3 remains at 3 seconds. You can now hold the charge for 5 full seconds before it will auto-fire (up from 4).
The charge animation on the reticle is now more precise/accurate

Adjustments have been made to the NC15 Phoenix:
Should now do more damage against air targets (same damage as default launcher)
Reduced reload time by 5700 ms, down to 5200 MS.
Fixed a projectile speed irregularity, this was causing the rocket to go much further than it should have before the player gained control of it. (Related to latency)
Reduced phoenix speed by 10 kph (~2.7 m/sec)

Adjusted the camera to be more in line with the collision model of the rocket

Air to Air lock on tones should now be working correctly for all empires

Server performance improvements
