I won't pretend that I'm some seasoned socialite or have a great way with women but imo you just engage them in the same way you would any other person you want to be friendly with. If you pay attention, you might find that you're already "flirting". And the dancing? Just focus on enjoying yourself. Maybe alcohol can help, as you can't be too self-conscious. |

Fiance's Dad is being a dick and making a power play on her mom by not helping us with our wedding. He payed for her sisters wedding and is not even giving us half of what he gave her. I don't know if there's other issues besides that, but I know he has the money. Worried about how we're going to fund this thing (already doing the cheapest reception place we could find, no booze, etc). Stressing out all parties involved.
TL;DR Divorce sucks for those not even involved. |

But we might just have to do a ceremony and no reception. |
This is becoming more and more common in the budget stuff. It's pretty normal. Often the reception gets scheduled for a better time/day or when it's better financially, or for guests. My friend planned, and decorated her own wedding I think she said her total cost (excluding the dress) was around $6k. Only thing she didn't have friends do or do herself was photography (and food). She made center pieces out of dollar store vases and paper flowers. She made her own invites and basically everything. It all looked nice too. But she also had been dating her boyfriend (also my friend, I hooked them up) since high school (she had been out of college for over a year). |

Had a really intense argument last night with my GF..
It was so uncharacteristic.. Honestly I'm still kinda shocked by the whole thing, and trying to process what happened and why..
Give yourself some time to stabilize your thoughts and feelings after the incident before trying to figure out any "what's" or "why's." It's nearly impossible to sort through another person's reasoning with any level of objectivity when you're emotionally still in the thick of it, so don't try. Once you've cooled off, keep the conversation with her open, honest, and without guilt or blame directed at either party. I don't have much context here, but flowers might help anyway as a sign of goodwill. Good luck. |

Trying to shop around for a better rate on a mortgage + a collections agency being a dick about putting something back onto my credit report when they'd agreed to remove it = my credit score dropping low enough that I longer qualify for _any_ mortgage. The FML: the other party has already accepted my offer based on the two preapprovals I got.
Collections agency is the one that took me to court last year, its for a fraudulent debt. They agreed to strike it from the record, and yes I have that in writing. Within striking distance of paying off my college loans? HAHAHAHAHAHHANO. Re: house, looks like with my ladyfriend's credit, she can get a ridiculously good rate and approval for the entire mortgage on her own, even though her income is a lot less than ours combined. Guess I'll just help with the down payment and agree to pay half of the mortgage with her, but not be on the mortgage proper. I will be on the deed/title though. *shrugs* In more FML news, I AM BACK IN FUCKING OHIO AGAIN WHARRGARBL "If you want to be a Double E, bend over and grab your knees...." I'm so sorry. Ohio was like a straight line with nothing to look at. I might as well just have drove my bike off the road and ended it there.

Only 2 long roads to drive in Ohio are worthwhile. Along the coastal trail (lake erie), and along the ohio river. Through the middle or on the turnpike... god is it boring. |
