groupme is the new IRC.  But you do have to put up with a lot of chatter from Generic.

Also, IRC has functions that can let you pen & paper games on the channel (that no one takes advantage of and I don't know why).

So my day was kind of interesting.

I volunteered to help out at a pet adoption event on Saturday. Apparently there were two Petcos on the same street but in different parts of town, so I ended up at the wrong one. The adoption event I signed up for was for dogs. The one I ended up at was for cats. So instead of helping out with dogs, I ended up hanging out with cat ladies for most of the day. Turns out they needed some extra muscle to help with breakdown and cleanup so it all worked out in the end and they were very grateful for the help. I just thought it was kind of interesting how that turned out.
