I saw that the other day, and I could help but think- the guy filming is a fucking moron. So, you see the canisters that only failed in a certain spot spinning around spewing fiery death, which should be concerning. And you see the low inertia/high angle debris showering down somewhat close, which should also be concerning. But what you're not seeing in the video is the tiny shrapnel with high inertia shooting off from the blasts- the couple cubic centimeter pieces of steel that are traveling and bullet like speeds that will tear right through you if you're in the way. Â
So remember kiddies! If you see an explosion involving metals getting blown apart, get the fuck away (far away), or get behind cover. And don't peak your head out to watch.  |

Essentially, whatever was in those canisters started boiling inside and the pressure overcame what the containers could withstand and KABOOM. You fight those by putting what are called monitor streams on the container (or containers) in question and keep the heat down. Incident like this though, you set your trucks up to cover your guys and use the deck guns if they can get that far. 11:35 Socks Greatbacon_work: Just accept the idea of enemas.

So I've had a couple of interviews in Boston over the last two days. Yesterday's didn't work out (stupid linear programming optimization problems) but I really feel like I hit today's technical interview out of the park. Except for the part where I thought the interview was at 2:30 and it was actually at 2. At least I was early for when I thought I was supposed to arrive :-\

This SFM is shockingly well done. Valve themselves couldn't have done better.
