Coming from the perspective of someone who loves photography and reads stuff about it all the time - Oblivion was an amazing film just from the perspective of lighting. There are so many incredibly well lit shots in that movie. The rest of it was OK, but I think it's definitely one of those movies that people learning this kind of thing should watch and see what works and what doesn't.

Oh good, now I can allow it to sink into obscurity until it becomes completely irrelevant and then watch it when no on gives a shit.

that movie had so many tropes it was nearly a comedy for me. But yes, it was very pretty.

A profitable TV series was allowed to end instead of keeping it going to milk every possible dollar out of it? Hm...might be worth watching then at some point

Honestly a lot of the scenes were often kind of blah from a composition standpoint, but whoever was in charge of lighting/exposure knew what they were doing.

I've heard nothing but good things about it. I haven't started watching it though.

That new show on NBC with James Spader has potential. I watched the pilot last week and liked it.

I started working my way through it on Netflix a couple a weeks ago, I'm about halfway through season 2 right now.

I really like it, but it's also kind of bleak.  I'm interested to see how things ramp up over the next few seasons.

That's what happened to ST:TNG.  It feels odd comparing Star Trek to Breaking Bad, though.  I've only watched two episodes and it's obviously the only thing those two have in common.

Each season is supposed to be better than the one preceding it. I really enjoy the series (halfway through the final season now) but I found the first two seasons to be really slow.
