Got my VS main, and an NC on matherson. I dont think i could stomach running alongside the chimpsquads like the BWC and AOD

i could run one, but it's not ideal unfortunately. I'd need to find a 50 m one and bind it up along the way and I don't think my landlady wants the cables all over the place. There's a new kitten abound and no one is safe, not even cables.

man my all black legend is fantastic, that's supposed to be my apartment layout including the living room where the router, 'R' is located, and it needs to wrap around a few walls to get inside my room and to the back of it where my Desktop sits, as PC.

dont know if you could do this, but the best thing i convinced my roommate to do was put the router in my room (as it was a more centralized area) and i could hardwire my computer.
His consoles and computer all had wifi so he was not so opposed to it

Cat-proof the cables, staple them to the wall along the trim/whatever the fuck it's called and drill a tiny hole near the top of your wall to pass the cable through instead of going around.

I'm going to be drilling holes in my house this upcoming weekend to hardwire a connection to my gaming PC, but in the meantime one of those gigabit powerline adapters is doing a MUCH better job than my wireless ever has.

when i was in high school, getting my dad to get powerline adapters so no one had to deal with the shit wifi router was the best thing to happen since he really hated cables going to my room

If you do get powerline adapters, you have to ensure certain things.

1: You shouldn't use them in apartment buildings, while wiring SHOULD be isolated, often times it's not (though some models do have some good encryption methods set up it is still a risk)

2: Don't skimp, the cheap ones are just that, cheap, and unreliable. Spend the extra for a good transfer speed

3: Depending on the age of the home be wary of the distance you are having it travel, power lines are not made for ethernet, but are made to handle high power transmit and receive, and have a certain "acceptable loss" of power over distance that ethernet cables do not (it's significantly higher distance for ethernet cables). (If it is a brand new home with brand new wiring, if the contractor for wiring wasn't a moron you should be fine from a central location to the whole house)


My room, brother's room across hall, brother's room has ethernet straight to it, I use a powerline adapter from there into my room (short distance). Office has cable modem, another power line adapter from there into the other room where my mother's home office is, my father works in the main office directly connected. Basement has an ethernet cable run.
