I'd prefer a more slowed down strategy+tactic based game. Take the board game of Go. You constantly have to be thinking on two levels - "who is winning this particular fight?" and "who is controlling the whole board?" I think that bigger dynamic is what is often missing from strategy games like Starcraft. I found it in Sons of Solar Empire but that game is a dangerous time sink. |
