Perhaps you can tell me what its like, not having your wallet wail in terror and then subsequently trans-substantiate into nothingness, to get tickets that close to the ice.

It would be funny if it had a joke letter, and a cardboard display model in it

Got the rest of my medium format film camera in. Loaded the first roll. Too bad it's dark and rainy out today. Anyways now all I need is to find deals on a polaroid back and a mirror-up/shutter release cable.

And it was delicious. I now have a reason to learn how to use chopsticks.

Everything is a reason to learn to eat with chopsticks. Even M&Ms become super satisfying when you have to work for it.

Just paid off all my high interest Perkin's loans from college.  Hopefully by the time summer rolls around I'll have the rest paid off.

The new guy at work is actually a nice guy.  We hired him from another department, so he's not entirely clueless.  AND we're getting a bonus in our paychecks, this pay period.  My boss likes me so much that my bonus is almost like a whole additional paycheck.

I have some space brownies in the fridge, waiting for when I have an extra day.  My wife and I have a Doctor Who Saturday planned for the 50th anniversary special.  I have a small amount of generalized dread that it'll all come crashing down, somehow, but I'm going to try and keep this good feeling going.

...speaking of space brownies, I'm going to go check my notebook.  I know I was writing, I just don't know WHAT I was writing...

Well, my Grandmother had cancer in her pancreas.  And had a surgery a couple months ago to take some out.  She's currently living on her own (my grandfather passed away in 08).  Two months after what was a pretty invasive surgery.  And apparently all her doctors are commenting about how well she's doing, especially for her age (she's 84).  She starts chemo next week, but it's more of a preventative measure, since the cancer hadn't spread to much.

My other Grandmother had cancer also, in her liver, I think.  She had surgery last year, and underwent chemo, also.  Similar deal, preventative, cancer didn't spread much at all, and she's as healthy as a woman in her mid-70's can be.  She's also living alone (that grandfather passed in 01), and actually goes camping by herself.  She needs help setting up her tent (she actually goes camping, none of this RV nonsense), but otherwise is pretty self-sufficient while out there.

My Grammie and my Nana kick ass.  And I'll be seeing both of them next week, the former for the first time since 2010, and the latter for the first time since May of this year.  And I'm so excited.

That's so cool, resilient, and strong hobo that most of us would easily say this.

That's as if we we're also conflicted about not wanting to be seen as we were trying to hit on your cute sister.

I'm the best cook in my family. Hell, I'm the second best cook I know of the people I've shared beers with. (my friend with 2 restaurants and a food network appearance beats me).

So this usually means that I am the center of gravity for thanksgiving. I've been central to about half the thanksgivings in the last 8 years, in terms of menu planning, venue planning, beverage planning, and cooking.

To host Thanksgiving is to impose your will upon your guests (because that's what we did to the native americans, right?) Thus,  before we dine, I plan to impose a game upon my family: my stepfather, his girlfriend, and my 84 year old grandmother.

The game: Cards Against Humanity.

tl:dr, when you have the chance to abuse power, only use it for good.

Did CAH with my family at thanksgiving last year, my cousin who brought it wanted to pull a few cards like 'pacman uncontrollably guzzling cum'

I said no

My dad ended up playing most of the dirtiest cards.
