A) Their real name attached to everything
B) Google can already connect all the dots on the back end, why do we need to show everything on the front end?

Sure some people might want to do the whole LOOK AT MAH NAME ON EVERYTHING across all accounts and be super social and open, but the vast majority of people want things to be ala carte. G+ got the whole circles and privacy things right, if they really wanted to be cool about it they'd allow you to select who say what display name even. To people in BRBU they'd see 'caffeine' and a slightly different profile than say my real name to a 'work friends' circle.

That's not the issue though, the people are the issue, they are unwilling to read (seriously).
Because you can turn it off, and set it as a nick name, and only display the nickname, you can decide who sees your name, how and where, all of those options are there, it's just not blaring and in your face, you have to read to know exactly how to set it this way. Basically you CAN do exactly what you outlined, you just need to read the details on how to do it, Google has a habit of long-winded documentation
I don't set it because of 2 reasons, I'm lazy, and I don't care (and assume I'm already being watched).

true, but the point being that he, told them to pose for the photo(s), but was actually just video cap the whole time.
It is a direct shot at the hipster culture, they will willingly make fools of themselves for the sake of being "out there" and "cool"

I make fun of them and i make no apologies on the matter, because what they do is not cool or hip, but a revisit to the past and saying i liked this before anyone now, like it means something.
i dont dress in ugly old clothes, i dont put # in front of words, and drinking bad beer is only good for reminding us of how awful it really can be. The hipster culture is stupid.

The video is funny in itself because people will act silly if they think you're taking a photo but its actually a video.
