We have a large number of developers, comp sci majors, and people who just want to get into application, software, and games development in this community... the topics usually update fairly frequently, so... should there be one? Obviously final decision is Caff, but I'm just curios people's opinions.

You could just make a thread, and if it takes off, then folks could plan how to better arrange it into subfolders/threads.

Eh... There's threads throughout in big boys, general, and others, rpg maker, game maker studio, ios dev, python, all over, it doesn't need a sub forum list at all, just... 1 development forum to put those threads into their own place... there's really no specific "home" for them.
