Move worked out pretty well I think. I'm typing this in my new place on my old computer on my new adjustable height desk (while standing) and using internet that is faster than my old internet =)

Had small get together at my house Friday night, turned into Saint patty's day lan party- booze and diablo 3 all day Saturaday.

Churned out one amazing medium rare steak after another on my grill, flexed my bourbon knowledge, introduced a friend to cards against humanity.

I gave it another shot after the 2.0 changes. I went from playing the 'these are the tears of a hundred thousand fruitless Nephalem Valor stacks' tank monk to the I AM THE UNHOLY GOD OF LIGHTNING AND DEATH. Farming even without the RoS stuff is enjoyable. Blizzard firedmoved Jay Wilson to another project and gave the reins to someone who understood sometimes you just want some shiny shit. While there are a few casual beats here and there, the game is far healthier than it ever was at launch. Fun is now the rule, rather than the exception.

My buddy was just telling me ALL ABOUT IT.  Rather than turning me off a game, he made it sound more like D2, which I enjoyed very much.  Sad, though, when fixing a game meant making it more like it's predecessor.

This more often is the case than not, we are creatures of habit and want more of the same shit, but at the same time we talk out of the other side of our mouths and ask for innovation and new shiny shit.

The best game franchises are the ones that leave their core way the fuck alone and innovate in spurts around the edges. Best examples - everything made by Nintendo 1st party ever, pokemon, mario, metroid, zelda - they're still at the core almost the same as the first game they released, they just changed and morphed things around the edges, added a few new mechanics, things feel fresh but at the same time familiar.

We bought ps3 copies, so we've had most of the loot 2.0 changes the entire time Tongue supposedly they improved it even more for the pc patch to 2.0

I had a depressive insomniac night last night and woke up this morning to 62 'item paid' notifications from eBay for MTG cards. It's going to be a fun day to be me for the next couple weeks as all those envelopes come in.

Got my REI dividend back.

Also, old, but my sister ordered a knife off of REI.com as a Christmas present for me.  It came the day after Christmas, but it was supposed to arrive the day before.  She was super apologetic, but I didn't really care, what's one day?

Well, a couple weeks later, they ship her a letter, and a $25 gift card, as an apology for the delay in the package arriving.  She passed it along to me, so I bought a belt with it.  Also, REI has made a loyal customer out of an occasional customer.

Yeah, REI is to big box outdoor stores as credit unions are to banks. Much better service. The only place I know if with a better rep for customer service is LL Bean.
