Dark Souls II hype

That thing about being able see the interlinking of the open world in DS1 was great. Its there in DS2 but not quite as obvious, as backfire showed in that pic.

So I bought this today. Got to "the last giant" blind and then decided to look up a few mechanics. The new stats/load weights, and also effigys aren't explained in the game very well. I love surprises in exploring the game world, but I hate not understanding how the fuck to play the game.

Anyways, I'm rolling a dual wielding scimitar guy. Bought a bigger scimitar from the first blacksmith and using the scimitar I got from my class on the offhand. Parrys and backstabs are fucking awesome when you pull them off. Gonna wander around the giant area to see what I've missed so far. I know there's one second I haven't gotten into yet.

Also, that fucking dude that gets dropped onto the roof by a dragon. I took a few swipes at him and realized there was no way I was going to kill him in the condition I was and just noped out of there. I dunno where he went but I never saw him again.

I think the general complaint is that it's so close to the launch date, less than three months in-fact. Dark Souls 1 resisted DLC until a full year passed. That and there's no way to purchase this without the season pass which is really a shitty thing to do.

And I found him on accident.

Went round 1 and died.
Round 2 tried to summon a few people to help, phantom shot me with a crossbow.
Round 3, used crossbow and 1-shot boss. Thanks phantom.

However, it did use steamworks..

Honestly if From would go back and patch DS1 to use steamworks, I'd go back and play that to 100% completion. Half the fun is online which is only a quarter fun if none of that works.

So after Belfry Luna gargoyle bosses, there's that section where the dog swarm is. I kept getting invaded by this guy trying to get down there and I noticed that he was a dark spirit instead of a grey spirit.

Watching him get mauled to death was the funniest thing ever.
