I like Foobar, but it just requires too much fiddling. My recent updating has broken my skin and after a bunch of work and trying to install new skins I gave up.

Does anyone use a music player like Foobar, but that is easier to get the way you want it to look?

Not strictly similar to foobar but I have always been a fan of Mediamonkey.  It really goes more for the "Good UI at first" (it's not nearly as ugly as it used to be) and avoids the instability problems that can come with modular programs like Winamp.  Don't worry about the "gold", it's got nothing anyone would really want anyway, imo.

Might also check out Jaangle.  It's closer to foobar in that it's got a compact UI that you are supposed to customize.  I remember trying it a couple years ago and had no complaints.

I hear people like musicbee as well, but I have no experience with it.

Finally my favorite player ever is AIMP, but alas last I checked it still had one (just ONE) super-major flaw that I didn't like about the behavior of the program.  IMO it's more suited to be an on-demand player anyway, but PotPlayer is the best at that already. (It even supports Smooth Video Project super easily.)

I just use iTunes for podcasts/phone music and Spotify for everything else.

For playback, I will use winamp forever.

I'm on version 5 something at the moment, but am pretty sure I have a version of 2.97 archived. If not, I could find one.

Don't you have a Synology NAS? Just use Audio Station. Or are the aesthetics of your music player super important?

I just started using audio station from the portal, is there a standalone program? I hated it until I discovered the random100 feature. I almost alway just set my library on shuffle and see where chance takes me.

There are apps for iOS and Androind but not for desktops. You can get right to it if you just add /radio to the ip address or hostname of your disk station. And yeah, I use the random 100 every day. Shit is awesome.
