So a couple of months ago the company I work for announced it was laying of it's Operations force and replacing them with outsourced workers. The high profile Disney layoffs of a similar caliber have sparked some more questions about the outsourcing this company and now a FL senator has asked the DoL to investigate the company I work for.
I'd be more concerned if I weren't leaving in a month. As it is I find it kind of funny in a sinking ship sort of way. |

So I've decided to build dice rolling trays, because $50 for some wood and glued on felt is crazy when I can build it myself for $15... any recommended brands of particular products? I'd prefer self adhering (or Peel & Stick as one brand calls it) foam or felt because there's less of a chance of bubbling when the adhesive expands to stick, bubbling bad when rolling dice. I picked up some felt at a hobby lobby, but can't find the foam at any hobby stores or even general stores like wal-mart or Meijer, I've found it at office supply web sites, and tried the only office supply store franchise around (Office Max), no go there either.
Plus, my build method will most likely involve something along the lines of a bottom wood piece with the felt or foam being placed near-to- the edges of the bottom piece, adhered, then a wooden border placed, on the outside, and a wooden border placed over top of the felt/foam, will probably be square (though I do like octagonal designs there's more involved there in making some of the wood look nice together).

Buy a wood project box from Hobby lobby, discard lid. Paint/stain as you desire. Cut felt to size, Super 77. |

I might be able to find a box like that and even the Super 77 at Meijer (closest general store that also has a crafts section that's open 24 hours, I actually want to head out tonight to pick up some of this stuff). I also want to try the foam option too though. I do have a decent amount of felt that I can cut too, but I think it's too thick for a gaming rolling surface. Also; I don't like dice towers, they can look really cool, and are pretty neat, and I like the idea, but 1: I don't know how I would store it, I will have limited space and something flat will be so much easier to store, and 2: With my luck I'd break the tray off, so just a straight Dice Tray is the best option. |

It's like playing in a smokey backroom on a faded felt table, with side bets, thinly veiled threats, and a whole lot of fury when someone rolls a penta. It always feels like no one ever plays 10,000, until internetweb peoples remind you otherwise <3 Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities.
