But see, we're almost to Dino-Riders patch (mounted weaponry on top of large dinos), at that point a base + these dinos, we might make our server public :p

Also, you're partly wrong too. Terreria patch has taken from both mechs and dinos recently.

I think the only people that play semi-regularly still are HeK and I, and neither of us really have any interest in community warfare.

Things started nice and fresh, but I think for a lot of people the grind got to be way too difficult without spending real cash regularly to keep up. The mech prices (and delayed Cbill availability) are fine in my opinion. However, the cost to customize a mech is just atrocious, considering too the majority of stock builds are simply bad, its just like 'congrats, you saved up enough for that mech you wanted, now get ready to spend the same amount to make it viable'

So you don't mind, then? Because I don't think anyone was really using the group to organize play anyways, and we didn't get the right tag anyways D:

The reason I ask is because I'm the unit leader, and the other people who still play besides those you mentioned and myself (Dtrain and Negate) have both moved over to playing with NKVA (and using their mumble for MWO). If I want to move, I either need to hand off the unit, or disband it.

NKVA wouldn't let me play with them anyway.  I'm sure I'll play again when I find the time to clear out the space of the entire game on my hard drive which is apparently necessary to patch it...
