My great grand father from China hopped off the boat and swam to shore to avoid documentation.

When San Francisco has a massive fire it destroyed the records building and millions of immigrants were able to claim citizenship because anyone could claim anything.

Now I'm here.

According to that website, the county with second most amount of people with my last name is Haiti, trailing by only about 100. This is especially odd considering my last name is of German descent. Is there some weird compound on that island I don't know about?

My last name, for instance, only belongs to about 430 people throughout the entire world, and is almost all within the US. The last name where it originated from, however, is almost all currently within Germany, and my mother's maiden last name has a very rich history and is currently almost everywhere throughout the world.

Highest density in: Jamaica

Thank you for this. This was infinitely amusing

Well, I have to imagine this is fairly accurate. If you go to the county I live in, it only shows 2 people having my last name. I guess that would be me and Mrs. Dtrain. Though it doesn't show the county where I grew up as having any instances in it even though my parents and my aunt and uncle live there.

I suppose it is accurate but im not super interested on where people with my surname are now. I already know i have heavy German and French ancestry from my father and mothers sides respectively.
On a side note the highest density of my surname is in Canada.

I dunno if this is a FML or a TMMD but I was forced to buy a new phone because the communications chip in my Nexus 6 seems to be malfunctioning. I looked it up and apparently this is a problem for some phones and there didn't really seem to be a fix. I got the Nexus 6P because the reviews say its an amazing improvement over the 6, its made by a different company, and a lot of people were saying that the 5x just didn't have the magic of the 5 but the 6P was probably the best android phone out right now.

Today I will see if I can just pop my SIM card from my old phone over to the new one.

That sucks, its' service is way better than I expected, the shared between t-mobile and sprint thing is pretty cool and it's insanely way more reliable than I had expected (guess the shared network + wifi calling is pretty awesome).

Also, I like being able to answer my phone from my computer if I'm busy working (if logged into a google service associated with same account as phone such as gmail).

Yes. Worst case you may need to enter APN / MMS settings before data will work fully; however it's unlikely that you will need to.

Though this week has been total shit for me, I just found out my horrible ex-roommate is getting kicked out of her current place because the guy that opened it up to her can't stand her.

Normally I wouldn't be happy about this sort of thing but my pettiness is smiling.

Day 3: Roommate has still not noticed giant wrapped present for him underneath our tiny tree. I am beginning to suspect he has sight issues.

My last day at work ended today. It was much harder than I thought it was going to be because of ending ties I've had for almost five years. However, quitting frees up needed time for more classes/dedication to classes, which I should have done last semester. I just need to get a part time job and I should be set for my university stay.

Just noticed Karth's last post in this thread is over 9,000, heh.
