Another mainstream drop today. The peppers catch a lot of flak for being old/boring/unoriginal/whatever, but the progression in the band's chemistry between this and the previous album is outstanding. While I would say the last one was mediocre at best, I'm actually excited about how this one is going to sound. Obviously Frusciante's element is something that can never be replaced but this seems to be them finding their groove again. They've got Danger Mouse producing it and are working with someone new for the mixing.

Sounds fresh but still has some of that funk from the old days. |

And time for some SynthWave that sounds oddly like early Infected Mushroom:

Paul Banks (of Interpol) collaborating with RZA
Love Interpol and Paul, so it's cool to see him getting to work with hip hop giants like Wu Tang. It's different. https://youtu.be/Ob4SOrM2dxk 'Meditation is supposedly the only way to Enlightenment because the only way to find this truth is through inner reflection - therefore, what you are finding to be the truth in your personal journey should ultimately be exactly what I find to be the truth, though all of our journeys are unique.'

Danko Jones - Code of the Road
The beginning is the most important part of the work. |
