I wasn't being serious at all.
But is there really a rocket jumping script? What the hell would the point of that be? How could anybody not be able to rocket jump, we're not playing on a console here @_@. (09-11-2008, 05:11 PM)Dave link Wrote:i would totaly ride that gay ass dragon thing. |

Scripts are like fake tits. They may be spectacular and finish in the #1 or #2 spot of 90% of wet T-shirt nights, but they are no replacement for the real thing.

I recall Caff saying once that his scripts only do stuff that he would do otherwise but with less effort and I wouldn't question his skill as a player regardless but where is the line drawn? Any script is altering the gameplay, however insignificantly. Auto-RJ is legit, auto-build is legit, how about auto-aim or fuck it why not an auto-kill button? Because auto-aim and auto-kill are impossible to script using the tools the source engine gives you? Scripts in tf2 are more 'batch' jobs, they don't really make anyone more skilled than they already are but they do make certain actions easier. I use a toggle script for the heavy so that I don't cramp up my finger holding the spin-up key, I use the pyro panic script for laughs and once in a while to really 'panic', I use build scripts because it cuts out a few annoying button presses as engie and I use the 'stab+lastdisguise' to save some button presses as well. There is no way to really cheat with client side scripts unless the server allows it and someone who is really skilled will be skilled if he uses scripts or not, the scripts just make eliminate some tedium while they also make your setup a little more complicated usually... Signature temporarily out of order until I get off my lazy ass to fix it. |

I have trouble with the timing of the good rocket jump though (jump, crouch, shoot down), which is what the script addresses. :p Caffeine`brb!u: /facepalm Caffeine`brb!u: you have the technological ability of Dede Caffeine`brb!u: OOOOOOO what does this button do Caffeine`brb!u: *break* Caffeine`brb!u: SCOTTY GET OUT OF MY SERVER |

I always rebind crouch to shift. I think they used control because they were expecting it to be moderately useful. But shift is a big long key and easy to reach with your pinky (which is probably why you have it bind to voice)
For voice I'd go with the 3rd, 4th or 5th mouse button |

Yeah, can someone repost the script that allows connecting to Server 1 and 2 by just pressing F10/11? I seem to have lost it.
