See I'm the opposite. I don't use the pistol often so I think I'll go with BONK instead. I'll have to try out the FAN as well..not sure how well I'd play with it.

The only thing I can seriously see myself using is the Force-A-Nature, and that really all depends on it's damage. If it's broken enough to be able to one-shot a medic point blank, I'll basically have no choice but to use that beast. But if it's lesser on the damage and more on the pushback, I'll probably be sticking with the scattergun.

I bet the FAN does more damage but shoots both barrels at once, sort of like the sawed off in that action mod we played.

the issue for you is if you can still compete with enemy scout duos on mid. a miss with tha FAN and youre screwed. i still say if a scout comes in unseen theres nothing i can do as a combo soldier to save the medic. a 2shot on a medic seems good enough to me. i think the bigger bonus would be 2 shotting soldiers

If they build a sentry on the corridor the scout won't be able to escape with the intel. If he drinks BONK on the sniper ramp, all running to the intel, and then escaping will take him more than 5 seconds, plus all the way outside

Scoot could already get up there in at least 2 different ways... On the junk, and jumping from elevator at mid. But now he can jump up out of the intel room instead of having to take the bottom route (top is almost ALWAYS easier to go, soldiers and demos love to drop the sentries up top and take intel through sniper nest without anyone contesting it)
