Bleh, sidestabbing is just going to mean more cheap backstabs that spies didn't really deserve.  I was fucking cleaning up with spy as it was, they didn't need to do that just because so many people suck balls with spy.

TBH, I think this is just so backstabs are recognized easier. There have definently been some backstabs that didn't register and some that shouldn't have, but did. Hopefully, this fixes things up.

Sidestabs are nice for heavies who corner hump and engis who build their shit in a position that makes it impossible for a spy to actually get directly behind them, there isn't a decent way for a spy to get to them. When I say "sidestab" I assume they're talking about a diagonal stab to the back, which wasn't regging as a backstab anymore, and not literally stabbing people in the side/front like it used to be.

Yeah I was about 15 points higher than you that round too.  It was marginally annoying at worst I thought, and I'm worried with lag compensation there will be lots of backstabs by spies that have been discovered and are engaging in direct melee combat, which unless you massively fuck up should not happen.

Also I'm quite sad they changed the disguise to go back to default weapon, it made spotting shitty spies all the funnier.

And does anybody know wat that duckspamming was all about?

That's the whole "frontside stab" thing though, I think they're fixing "backside stabs".

Also, you were on offense, I had to go engi to help my shitty horribad team who got rolled anyways.

You tend to crouch twice in a rocket jump, right at the beginning and at the end, since you can only crouch once in a jump, this kind of fucks it up

They didn't really need to increase the sidestab range... If you aimed parallel to your target and not right at their back, you'd still get a backstab.

Or they could just add a range for half damage.  I mean I know they would have to rework their code to do it, but say the back is insta-kill and side takes 2 hits.  That would seem a bit more fair.
