I just don't want to have to spend $70 for the game, burning crusade, and a 60 day time card.  If my torrents work then the price goes down to $30.

The original is FREE from Blizzard, just hard to get.

Download the trial and install, then after that it will ask you if you want to upgrade to the full version, click yes and it links you to the download for this P2P thing from Blizzard that downloads it for you .

[/quote]That'll just install the full client, not give him an account.  The two are completely separate things.  You can easily get a hold of the program to play Wrath of the Lich King, but in order to actually play the game, you have to drop money on boxed versions or account keys to get a username and password that will actually log in.
