New weekday event vote

We've been hearing a lot of requests for events that are not normally on the server and have decided to use the early weekday for a fun regularly occurring event.  So what we need to know is what would you like to see the most?  Your decisions are a regular time for 3v3 and 4v4 scrims, a daily allotment of arena maps, a regularly occurring gentleman's duel.  Or it could just be a time to meet up with the regulars to play whatever you want with people you know until the crowd shows up.

These events will start every weekday at some time between 3 and 5 EST (please post your preferred time) and will last for 30 min to an hour or whenever the crowd shows up (this depends on the event chosen).  There will be at least 1 admin to help run it almost every day.

If selecting scrim:

Please consider that we need to work at keeping the server open as much as possible.  So if we do do scrims the server will either stay open or it will be locked only once a week and only for 30 min (starting before 4:30).  If everyone participating in scrim helps seed after we can be more flexible with locking the server for either longer or more days.

If selecting combination:

Please post what your preferred days for each activity are.  We are going to have to make it as easy to remember as possible so we are going to make it something easy to remember.  Like mon/wed duelling, tue/thur arena, fri scrim.  So post something in that format (or mon/wed/fri and tue/thurs).

Lastly, if you want to see something I haven't mentioned please post it!  Remember our servers are community driven so please tell us what you'd like to see.

How many people do you need?  Early day turnout will be low so its a good time to do small server things.

I voted small team scrims or combination(whatever the people who show feel like). Being so early I doubt we'll be able to organize a full 9v9 highlander. Plus I think small team scrims would be quite fun  ;D

This would not work since we are aiming at something around 6 - 8 people, you need 18 for highlander, and even then we aren't planning on locking the server, except for short periods of time.

Need some more input.  It looks like scrim is in the lead in which case I think it will go something along the lines of open small team pickups daily with whoever shows up starting at 4 EST.  Locked 30 min or less playoffs on Friday with set teams sometime before FNF.  We would have a sign up sheet for the locked matches, first come first serve with the rest watching and maybe some filming and backup teams for the inevitable no shows.

I could dig doing a semi-serious scrim thing.
Arena is fun but no one else likes it, and would only be good if we got a small semi-serous team scrim going for it.
If I think I know what a gentlemen's duel is (melee only) I don't really like it because I just get itchy to pull out my scattergun and shoot someone with it.
I would like it if more people seeded the server with me at times so we can get a full house

Actually small team scrims are really fun.  We did quite a bit of 4v4 a long time ago.  It's much more challenging because you have to choose classes carefully as a team, you need a lot more communication, you have a lot more 1v1 challenge moments and you can't just hide in the ranks - you have to perform individually.

I enjoy it as well and it's better for small groups, so I figured it'd be perfect for early days.

im down for some small scrims. 6v6 is chosen just because the maps are too big for anything smaller but 4v4 would be cool for wierd lineups

Yea 4v4 is typically done on small or narrow maps.  We mostly did ours on Mach 4 which works beautifully.  Labor was also pretty good for small scrims and Turbine was surprisingly good as well.  IMO CTF maps work best for small team scrims, with usually 1 assigned to offense, 1 to defense and the other(s) going where needed.

I gotta put down my vote for scrims for all the reasons already mentioned.  You actually have to work as a team when there are so few people playing, you can't just sit back and let other people do the work, each player has to pull their weight on the team.
