Is there a way to disable engineers for small team situations....?

Also, has anyone else ran into the problem of invisible sentries?  For some reason when they were setting them up on certain spots on the stairs in Castle they weren't be rendered on my computer.

There is a way, I have a class limits plugin on the server thats inactive, but we all pretty much decided in the past that we didn't want to see that kind of thing turned on. It limited peoples freedom of choice and if a team has a class balance problem the other team should be able to take advantage of it.

As for SGs not rendering were they firing THROUGH a wall or were they placed inside a brush? Or Were theyjust not showing up on your computer?

If its a brush or in the wall bug I suggest you go on your own PC see if you can build it, make a note of it and then contact the map author VilePickle

Did you minimize ever?  That has a tendency to bork the living hell outta rendered stuff.  Even map geometry.  And I'd really hate any use of class limits.  Besides, in small team situations, engis would have little support.

Knowing what video card and driver set you have can also help us pinpoint what could be wrong in the visuals department, if there are other reports of such a thing happening elsewhere.

I think I had accidentally minimized that session... yeah, I've noticed TF2 becomes some sort of bi-polar unhappy grizzly bear when minimized.  I'm running a single radeon 2600xt on this machine, haven't gotten around to buying another to crossfire yet... 1 card is working fine as long as I keep AA low or off, running the AMD/ATI drivers 8.471 which I guess is the last ones that wow didn't asplode on my machine with.  Yeah, I wasn't really serious about turning off engineers.  I just have a cold, dark place in my heart for them, I guess I should learn to spy better.

I seem to have no visual errors when minimizing with my SLI'd 8600GTSes, though minimizing is accidental and it takes forever for it to come back up even so...

Well if I wasn't a dumbass and ordered a motherboard that supports SLI(mine does crossfire) then i could SLI my 2 8600GT's to but nooo I had to be noob and order the wrong MB.

But I'm currently duel screening and will never go back to just 1 screen.

Oh yea, well my server's got no screen, keyboard, or mouse. 
AND, I managed to set up openssh without a monitor (too lazy, gave the Stevie Wonder a shot)

Christmas gifts, both of them. And I'm planning on selling one to get some money towards something better while letting my brother have the other (along with the rest of my slightly-older hardware) if his laptop dies. The jump in quality's nice (8600s are quite SLIable), but I want to go towards a single powerful card since I'm dependent on dual monitors and SLI won't be an option for a single-computer setup.

Plus it'd be fun to see about modding my big fulltower case. <3 But only when I get the money, not to mention the knowledge.
