It hasn't even been a year....

If you make a sequel, less than a year after the initial release, that is acknowledgment that the first product was a failure, in my eyes at least...

I think the exact opposite... it won so many game of the year awards and made a shit ton of money... so much in fact that they were able to take all the flowing new ideas and just take the same game, but up it entirely... granted I can't say it will be as good as the first since I haven't played it, but knowing valve and seeing the gameplay out there, I think it will be every bit as good if not better.

I can't believe so many people are upset about this... I understand people want a SDK, thats valid.  But c'mon guys... do you know how much money it takes to make a game?? and you want free updates all the time because what? that's what you're used to??  If you like the games enough, pay for it... It's only supporting them to make more!

A) The SDK should have been released DAY ONE, how did they make the levels, fucking fairy dust? Just release the tools you used and let us figure them out. The fact that the TF2 SDK content was OUT BEFORE THE BETA and the L4D took 6 months means there are no excuses.

B) Bugs/Imbalance are still issues (some valve is slowly fixing....)

C) 4 maps at release, only 2 of them Versus

D) Worst server set up and system I have seen in a PC Game, ever


Ill grant valve one benefit in that they did not wholly develop L4D, and only put the polish on after it was done. If this is entirely done by valve and not the cockmunchers that designed the first system, it might be good if they fixed D....ESPECIALLY D.

How was the server system so bad?  It worked.  Okay okay it worked better in theory, there were too many times where I'd get a "Connecting... Server is Full!" 10 times in a row, but when that wasn't happening it did the job just well I think.

I mean maybe it could have been better if you could choose a specific 3rd party server to join via keywords or be able to input more "server search" variables as a host, but other than that it was fine.

Trying to get to a server you own for the longest time was abysmal, and it still is

There should be a little box right when the lobby leader goes to start the game to put in a search key or IP, or browse their steam groups for a linked server. Players should always have the option to browse manually and join a game, at least in my opinion, its inexcusable in a PC game to not allow it, especially when the auto-find function doesn't work 50% of the time.

I dunno, I thought L4D 1 was a great idea with awkward execution that made it hard to keep my interest for too long.  If L4D 2 is the same game but with everything that they should have done to make it amazing execution then I will be interested.  I don't feel too shafted I guess, I knew what I was buying.  I just wish they had more support for the first.

It's got to be possible for Valve to ramp out a new Server Set Up like they did so beautifully in CSS and TF2, that thing works like magic. I'm guessing Valve was just experimenting with new Server Set Up ways on L4D1.

Also, i think the new L4D2 will be pretty good, new weapons, new characters, new setting, hell even the zombies are more unique! All this for $19.99 (hopefully) and i will be a happy zombie smashin camper

So they couldn't just take out the closet or the bed thing?  They reworked the Hospital roof area early on, I would think that adding a closet door wouldn't be that hard.
