If you're new or not too skilled at TF2 and hate dieing the worst time you can play is Tuesday or Friday nights to be honest. Like some other people have said we've played together enough and have enough good players that everyone's game has improved (except mine ), and those two nights are the nights when everyone comes out to show their stuff.

Although if you're patient and don't mind dieing you'll probably learn a lot.

Agreed scotty, I went from the top of the leaderboards to the bottom and stayed there in a matter of minutes last night.  But honestly I couldn't be happier.  I love the challenge.  Although I was kind of pissed my computer wasn't being very cooperative (frame rate issues made most of the fast paced classes unplayable for me like scout, sniper, pyro.  Got some time in as solly though)

That and getting shot aroudn walls happen a lot in TF2.  Client deference ftw.  Realistically there's little that can be done until internet connections evolve to really get rid of latency, if you want to make the game still "appear" to run smoothly, which is what they opted for with the HL2 netcode basis.

With regards to Ketsuban, being another friend of Cece's, I have to say he just doesn't really play FPSes very much. Doesn't really have the mindset. He HAS gotten better, and would, but he seems to get frustrated very easily at things. I can relate, as I really don't like to play when I'm losing either. Though really, it's not so much the losing, but all the whining and trash talk that seems to go on, even playfully. It just gets pretty annoying and makes it less of a game and more an exercise in patience when people seem to get so serious and personal about a game.

I'm a casual player, moreso than Cece (Jesus how can you play for like 6 hours straight? Slow down! @_@) and though I have gotten better I really don't have the commitment some other people have (nor the time).

Ketsu says that what really gets to him are the times he's barely out of the spawn and dies horribly; he's since stopped playing on public servers and actually stopped playing entirely until recently. Any suggestions to lift his spirits and maybe help him out?

P.S. He's also a brit, so he's also got to deal with horrendous pond lag.

Im more of an extremely needy Heavy/Soldier, and whine when a medic isnt glued to my back. I do my fare share of medic though, over 60 hours, so I at least pay it back

Depends on what classes he plays. If he plays medic, there's nothing like sticking to someone who routinely dominates. If I'm having a shit day, I always end up going medic, it makes me feel better about myself. Rock Paper Scissors matches are good too for picking up spirits. If you're failing, blame your class, and the matches are always pretty hilarious. Other than that, just find times when people are just playing to screw around. People love to fuck around when they're seeding the server.
