What is Neotokyo?
-Neotokyo is a first person shooter that takes place in a futuristic setting.

Neotokyo "Source" you say?
Yep, it uses the very same source engine that is used for in games like Day of Defeat Source or Half Life 2.

So what is the game play like in Neotokyo?
The game play is somewhere between Day of Defeat Source (except round based) along with game play tactics like Rainbow Six.

So whats the story behind Neotokyo?
Neotokyo takes place about 30-40 years from now in a Japan that has drifted into social/political strife due to the inevitable stresses that come from changing times. The Japanese government is grappling with intensified external (Asia geopolitics) and internal (economic/social) problems, and there is mounting pressure from within Japan to return to the days when it exerted influence through military power and strength. A failed legislative push to alter the Japanese Constitution (allowing the Japanese military to engage in offensive actions outside of the country) leads to an attempted military coup by members of Japan's armed forces (GSDF). The coup fails, but was very close to succeeding. In an effort to suppress further coup attempts, Japan's Prime Minister forms a branch inside the Interior Ministry's National Security Forces (NSF) called GROUP SIX. They answer directly to the Prime Minister and are sworn to protect the Japanese Constitution at all costs. They immediately begin to hear rumors of a rogue element of the GSDF Special Forces (JINRAI) maneuvering for a second coup attempt. These JINRAI are Special Operations Group 43 (SOG43), fierce nationalist loyal to their love of country, and a desire to put Japan back into a position of strength and power.

Please tell me this mod will be free!
As long as you have half life 2 or a source game that gives you the sdk all is well.

How many and what kind of weapons is there?
Around 22 weapons, which include grenades, machine guns, rifles, and pistols.

What type of game modes are there?
Capture the Ghost and Team Deathmatch

Any classes? What kind are they?
There are 3 classes. Recon, Support, and Assault.

Features
Some of the features include
-Leaning
-Cloak
-Vision
-fully gibbable player models, arms, legs, torso, heads, etc.

How will Leaning work in Neotokyo?
A key would be binded to lean left and right

How does vision modes work in Neotokyo?
There are 3 types of vision modes in neotokyo. 1 mode for each class. Here is an example of how each vision works for each class

Recon = Night Vision


Assault = Motion Vision


Support = Thermal Vision

Hmmm....I thought this was the Japanese version of CS?

It's pretty decent.  It's not anything as deep as Dystopia (or anything like Dystopia really).

It's pretty much CSS except with 3 classes that have their own abilities, an unexplained unlock system, and HP levels that are about around what dystopia's HP levels are.  Pretty simple and straightforward, yet fun for a few rounds.  Nothing that was interesting enough for me to keep playing more than that though.

Looks great, the tokyo-future style is p. cool.

I've got a feeling due to it being much simpler (other than the game not explaining jack shit to you when you first start playing) and similar to CSS it'll most likely be much much more popular than Dystopia was.

Just finished playing it a bunch. I really like it. It's like Counter-Strike without all of the shit.
