Me again, struggling with my technological ineptitude >.< I got a new hardrive and moved all of My Documents on to it, leaving the smaller program files on the other. In doing so, I've thoroughly confused itunes (my own fault really, as I have all my music lazily placed in different locations,) and now I have to go through and help it refind every thing that was in My Music. Is there an easy fix, or is this just the price I have to pay for my prior sloth?
And on a tangentially related note, a while back I remember tweaking the settings for shuffle so that it favored songs from the same album when choosing the next one. I've since regretted that decision, but for the life of me I can't find that option anywhere :/ Am I delusional or was it somehow removed in later versions of itunes?

I've only defended them when you people ignorantly say Macs suck without bringing up any reasons besides gaming. |

File -> Add to Library
Pick a folder. It will scan that folder and all subfolders and automatically add any music it finds. If your currently library is fucked up and has all those (!) signs everywhere, delete all those before you readd so you won't have to comb through duplicates. |

Do you need to use iTunes because that's what you sync your iPod with or are you just using it to play music on your PC?
You could always try a different player if you are using it for the latter. Â Sig by Joel |

doesnt the rating system work that way? if you 5 star music it comes up more often... kind of a hassel, but If you want individual albums more often, you're gonig to select them regardless of the option.
trust me... I'm a 2L |

Oh shit.
I know what you're talking about, I've seen that option once too, some versions ago, and I can't find it anymore either... I've been looking for it because I wanted to add that feature again. Made me waste at least half an hour of my life . [move][glow=black,2,300] Vote Benito 2012  [/glow]                             ï@.[/move] |

I think the shuffle options are still there. On the version I've got at home (which, thinking about it just now it might be old.....) you can still adjust it.
It's a slider scale on my version which allows me to choose how random my shuffling should be, if you know what I mean. I think that's what we're talking about here... |

If itunes is getting you down, you might want to look into an alternative like Songbird or Media Monkey. Here is a list of some good ones.

I remember it being so easy to find in the option menu way back when I futzed with it, but I think for whatever reason they've done away with it. I've used it out of convince (for the reason you refer to, and since I have a good amount of stuff purchased from their store.) If there's a better solution for the latter though I'm all ears. [edit]Scratch that last part. Thanks Mission![/edit] |

For me it's located here:Â Edit > Preferences > Playback (it's the slider at the bottom)
That being said, I refuse to update itunes and am running version 7.6.2.9. The current version is 9 D: |

That option disappeared with 8 for some reason.
