I've been checking every few days for the past many months and about time. I'm glad the Mother fans are the most devoted fans in videogames.

I've made sure not to really see or read anything about the game, so it'll be totally new to me when it's done. Also I think they said about a month of checking from when it was "done", so hopefully a Halloween release or so.

No, you can still appreciate and enjoy the (amazing) story with out the prior reference, but there are some parts, that anyone could understand, but those who have played Earthbound will get a special enjoyment out of. So I recommend you play through it. Plus Earthbound is an amazing game as well
