should have voted "sorta"
xp is still my gaming OS of choice , but down the line if you start to come into games that require more than 3 gigs of ram , then it'd be vista64 but if you take that road right now you're not going to be happy with the results |

Actually, upon Googling it, I found that a few people have your same problem and are met with a bunch of other Vista 64bit users who say it works fine. Who knows? Feeling generous? The things is that it does load, the game loads and all I just cant start a new game. If the crack didnt work I wouldnt get that far. Â Sig by Joel |

Absolutely not. Caff's problem and the responses are an excellent example of why. He's got a huge problem, but tons of other people do not, and there is no support on the issue due to so many people going "works for me, must be you who fucked up". This extends to all sorts of shit in Vista as a whole, and while a majority of the time it is user-end, there are still plenty of times where something is just completely screwed for someone who will never get help with it.
Also lol@64bit driver support. Also TinyXP for gaming pl0x. |

64bit for a desktop environment is overrated, how many of you actually use more than 3 jiggabytes of RAM anyways?

[/quote] As in not just this single instance where the support might do something if he had bought the game. Here's a quick example. After installing Vista Ultimate, one of my friends could not view jpg's through a browser. After days of searching the issue, we had found no support, and Microsoft offered none either, because they had no fucking idea. There were a few results with other people who had the same issue, but not many, and the standard response was "reinstall Windows you fucked something up". That's just pathetic. It took 3 reinstalls before the problem disappeared for no reason that could be found. Like I said, if you're on the receiving end of one of these problems, the general response is "works for me, your fault" even when there's a possibility it might not be. Also, like Duck said, who the hell uses more than 3GB of RAM. TinyXP still has my vote, smaller, faster, and by the time you need 4GB of RAM Windows 7 will be out.

Pretty much. Do you really want to compound the compatibility issues of Vista with the compatibility issues of a 64-bit OS? It's just asking for problems. Stick with simple 32-bit XP for now, until things are made that run on computers have need of a new 64-bit OS. Right now, there are no such things for user purposes.

Sorta. Vista 32 seems to have less problems for newer games right now. However, in the next few years, you might be feeling the ram crunch. Depending on when windows 7 is scheduled for release, I'd say get Vista 32, then upgrade the ram and get windows 7 64.
<+Karrde> welp, time to learn some basic patterning skills <@Negate> 12121212121212121212 <@Negate> there is a simple pattern <+Karrde> I changed my mind. Gonna cosplay as a gay demon from hell and get negate raped instead XD <+Caffeine`work> Karrde: Gay demon? Why would you need to cosplay just go as yourself <+FlyingMongoose> Caffeine`work: Karrde would actually have to tone it down some. |

Also, yus, if the 64 bit change was forced, people would step up their game on working on the drivers. At the same time this might be beneficial because having longer means (hopefully) less bugs when it is straight 64bit. |
