Um... How can it be the greatest of all time if we're only picking from only 5 consoles? Hell, I consider myself a very seasoned gamer, and I'm pretty sure I only need one hand to count the number of games on the N64 and Atari (which one btw) I've put more than a few minutes in.

I'll give it a go I suppose. You want one from each system (which is what I'm doing), or 5 that can be from any of those?
NES: Crystalis
SNES: Terranigma
Genesis: Aladdin
N64: Um... Mario 64 I guess...
Atari: Ms. Pac Man, even though I've never played that version

Yeah, the 5 consoles only sort of takes away the whole "greatest of all time" part of the question.  Kind of like saying "what is your favorite food that is pizza or sandwiches?"

What's wrong with that? The movie poll allowed for essentially the same thing and it's worked out well. Aside from being overly restrictive on the consoles I think it's a good idea.

Serisouly, if you were aiming for best old-time game of all time, then say it. None of this fanboy bullshit for dead systems, or limiting it to just what you know since that's a pretty thin attempt for us to tell you which games you should emulate. This is a forum.
