Japanese easy to learn my ass.  I'm still not good at it.  I plan on learning Taiwanese to communicate with the Grandparents better, but seems difficult.

Have you tried Roestta Stone? I played with the rosetta stone japanese stuff and it was pretty sweet.

Rosetta stone is a fantastic way to learn a language.  I was doing good with japanese til I got sidetracked and forgot about it.  Surprisingly I haven't forgot the little that I have learned.

I speak English and have been studying Japanese for many years.  I was an exchange student over there for a while, and also taught English there briefly.  Unfortunately, after that I didn't speak it for about 5 years and forgot most of it :p  Fortunately, I found a tutor about a year and a half ago and meet with her twice a month, which has been a big help.

1st: Texan
2nd: English
3rd: 1 year of accelerated Portuguese, I cannot express the benefit of knowing how to say "Your eyes seem to me as a deep lake, I want to dive into you" in this language.  This is also a good way to learn alot of spanish.

I had 1/2 semester of Japanese, enough to go through Hiragana.

Which program did you go through to teach English?  I've been thinking about this as an excuse to not get a real job/ grad school.

1.English is my first language.

2.Tagalog: I used to speak it when I was little. Now I can just understand it and speak only a little.

3.Spanish: took three years of it in high school which means I can speak and understand it at the level of a 5 year old.

Re: Which language(s) do you speak? - Ianki - 06-26-2008

English, and enough Japanese to get by/falsely impress those from japan.

Of course i had a Japanese girlfriend while i was learning which helped matters considerably, but now i'm single and can only fake it.

Re: Which language(s) do you speak? - cannedpeahes - 06-26-2008

Well, English firstly and foremostly. After that, a very tiny bit of German, and some Spanish.

Re: Which language(s) do you speak? - ktj - 06-26-2008

Finnish and little bit swedish

Re: Which language(s) do you speak? - NiceGuy - 06-26-2008

English and Korean for me. I've attempted to learn Japanese for a while now but have never been able to stick with it so my knowledge of the language is very sparse  Tongue And as I've mentioned before, I'd like to learn French so I can up my chances of becoming a Canadian citizen should Obama not win the US election this November  ;D
