You could also try those x-men/marvel alliance games.  I know it's a bit RPGish but most of it is mindless mayhem

Sacred 2 is ok, but there are SO many fucking bugs in it that you're better off waiting until everything is patched.  At its core, it's not bad, but not great.

I just got the Witcher, and it's very good.  I wouldn't call the combat amazing but it's certainly different.  Get it.

The review copy I think was 12 gigs, including the "elite texture pack".

But yeah, it's way too big for what it is.

Is that really considered "hack and slash" though?  I heard the game was going to be more like Battlefield 2 but with LOTRs.  But I suppose since there are no guns that it would just end up being sword fights and such.

Word on the street is that the Rise of the Argonaunts is so buggy it's unplayable.

Like falling through the world unplayable.

I wouldn't be remotely surprised, since they seem to have been doing everything they can to not promote or hype the game whatsoever.  The goal is probably to release it buggy but in time for the holidays so it is on shelves and people might buy it, but avoid as much press as possible, because that would end up hurting sales instead of helping them.
